The English playwright Joe Orton (5 letters) was a prominent figure in the British theatre scene during the 1960s. He wrote a number of plays that were both controversial and critically acclaimed, including Entertaining Mr Sloane, Loot, and What the Butler Saw. His works often featured dark humour and satire, and he was posthumously awarded the Laurence Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in Theatre in 1991.
