Emmy-winning scientist Bill Nye is an American science communicator, television presenter, and mechanical engineer. He is best known for hosting the PBS children's science show Bill Nye the Science Guy (1993–1998), and for his many subsequent appearances in popular media as a science educator. Nye has won several Emmy Awards for his work on the show, including Outstanding Writing in a Children's Series in 1997.
