Lena Waithe is an Emmy Award-winning American screenwriter, producer, and actress. She is best known for her work on the Netflix series Master of None, for which she won an Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series in 2017. Waithe is also the creator of the Showtime series The Chi, which has been nominated for several Emmy Awards. She is the first African-American woman to win an Emmy for comedy writing.
