The actor Sabu was an Indian-born British actor who is best known for his role as the title character in the 1937 film Elephant Boy. He was born in 1924 and began his career as a child actor in British films, eventually becoming a major star in Hollywood. He was nominated for an Academy Award for his performance in Elephant Boy and went on to appear in several other films, including The Thief of Bagdad and Jungle Book.
