Electra, Mother of, is a character from Greek mythology. She was the daughter of King Agamemnon and Queen Clytemnestra. Electra was known for her loyalty to her father and her hatred of her mother, who had killed Agamemnon. Her story is told in several plays by the ancient Greek playwright Sophocles. In one of these plays, Electra is reunited with her brother Orestes and together they avenge their father's death by killing Clytemnestra.
