The Eastern Sultanate of OMAN is a country located in the Middle East, on the southeastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It is bordered by the United Arab Emirates to the northwest, Saudi Arabia to the west, and Yemen to the southwest. The capital and largest city of OMAN is Muscat. OMAN has a long history as an independent state, with its first sultanate established in the 7th century. The current Sultan of OMAN is Qaboos bin Said Al Said, who has been ruling since 1970.
