The Eastern Mediterranean Region, also known as the LEVANT, is a geographical and cultural region that includes parts of modern-day Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Palestine, Jordan, and Cyprus. It is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea to the west, the Arabian Desert to the south, and the Caucasus Mountains to the north. The region has been an important center of trade and culture since ancient times and is home to many different ethnic and religious groups.
