The East Slavic language is the collective term for the RUSSIAN, Ukrainian, and Belarusian languages. RUSSIAN is the most widely spoken of the three, with over 150 million native speakers. It is an official language in Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and is also recognized as a minority language in several other countries. RUSSIAN is written using the Cyrillic alphabet and is one of the six official languages of the United Nations.
