The term 'Early US Space Station' refers to Skylab, a space station launched and operated by the United States from 1973 to 1979. Skylab was the first space station to be launched by the United States and was the only space station the US had until the launch of the International Space Station in 1998. Skylab was used for a variety of scientific experiments and observations, including solar observation, Earth resources, medical experiments, and more. Skylab was also the site of the first American spacewalk outside of a spacecraft.
