Alan Eagleson was a Canadian lawyer and sports executive who served as the executive director of the National Hockey League Players' Association from 1967 to 1991. He was also the founding president of the World Hockey Association Players' Association. Eagleson was known for his controversial tenure as head of the NHLPA, which included allegations of embezzlement and fraud. He was eventually convicted of fraud and served time in prison.
