A drifting ice sheet, also known as a FLOE, is a large sheet of floating ice that is found in the ocean. It is formed when pieces of ice break off from glaciers or ice shelves and are carried away by ocean currents. These ice sheets can be hundreds of kilometers in length and can contain icebergs, sea ice, and other frozen debris.
