A drain cover is a protective covering that is placed over a drain to prevent debris and other objects from entering the drain. The two most common types of drain covers are grates and manholes. Grates are metal or plastic covers with small holes that allow water to pass through while keeping out larger objects. Manholes are large, circular covers that provide access to the underground drainage system.
