Draco is a CONSTELLATION in the northern sky, named after the dragon in Greek mythology. It is one of the 48 constellations listed by the 2nd-century astronomer Ptolemy and remains one of the 88 modern constellations. Draco is circumpolar, and can be seen all year round in the Northern Hemisphere. It is bordered by Cepheus to the north, Ursa Major to the east, Hercules to the south, and Lyra to the west. Draco is home to several bright stars, including the second-brightest star in the northern celestial hemisphere, Eltanin.
