Doonesbury cartoonist Garry Trudeau is a Pulitzer Prize-winning American cartoonist, best known for his comic strip Doonesbury. He was born in 1948 and graduated from Yale University in 1970. His first comic strip, Bull Tales, was published in the Yale Daily News in 1968. In 1970, he changed the name of the strip to Doonesbury, which has since been syndicated in over 1, 400 newspapers worldwide. Trudeau has also written several books, including The Doonesbury Chronicles and Doonesbury: A Musical Comedy. He has won numerous awards, including the Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Cartooning in 1975.
