LARIATS are seven-letter ropes made of leather or rawhide, while LASSOS are six-letter ropes made of braided horsehair. Ropers are also six-letter ropes, but they are made of nylon or polyester. RIATAS are also six-letter ropes, but they are made of leather and decorated with silver ornaments. Finally, LASSOES are seven-letter ropes made of braided horsehair. All of these tools are used by Dogie Catchers to capture wild horses.
