Ken Burns is an American documentary filmmaker and documentarist. He is best known for his historical documentaries, such as The Civil War, Baseball, Jazz, The War, The National Parks: America's Best Idea, and The Roosevelts: An Intimate History. His style of documentary filmmaking has become known as the 'KEN Burns effect'. He has won numerous awards, including Emmy Awards, Grammy Awards, and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
