DIVIDED ASIA NATION is a term used to describe the countries in Asia that have been divided into two or more separate nations. Laos, IRAN, KOREA, and ONE are all examples of this. Laos was divided into the Lao People's Democratic Republic and the Kingdom of Laos in 1975. IRAN was divided into the Islamic Republic of IRAN and the Democratic Republic of IRAN in 1979. KOREA was divided into North and South KOREA in 1945. ONE is a reference to the island of Taiwan, which has been divided between the Republic of China and the People's Republic of China since 1949.
