Orson Welles was an American actor, director, writer and producer who is best known for his 1941 film Citizen Kane. He was also a theatre director and radio broadcaster. He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Director for Citizen Kane and won an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. He was also nominated for two other Academy Awards for Best Actor and Best Picture. He was one of the most influential filmmakers of the 20th century and is widely regarded as one of the greatest directors of all time.
