Otto Preminger was an Austrian-born American filmmaker and theatre director. He is best known for directing films such as Laura (1944), The Man with the Golden Arm (1955), Anatomy of a Murder (1959), and Exodus (1960). Preminger was also a successful theatre director, having directed productions of plays such as The Moon Is Blue (1953) and Carmen Jones (1954). Preminger's career spanned over five decades and he was nominated for five Academy Awards.
