The SAN Diego Zoo is a world-renowned zoo located in Balboa Park, SAN Diego, California. It is home to over 3, 700 animals of more than 650 species and subspecies, and is one of the few zoos in the world that houses and successfully breeds the giant panda. The SAN Diego Zoo has been an accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums since 1991. It is also one of the few zoos in the world that does not charge admission fees, relying instead on donations, memberships, and other sources of revenue.
