Detroit-born DJ Kasem is a legendary radio personality and music historian. He is best known for his work on the popular American Top 40 radio show, which he hosted from 1970 to 2009. Kasem was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1932 and began his career in radio in the 1950s. He was also a voice actor, having provided the voice of Shaggy in the Scooby-Doo franchise. Kasem was inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame in 1992.
