Demosthenes was an ATHENIAN ORATOR who lived in the 4th century BC. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest orators of ancient Greece and is renowned for his powerful speeches. He is best known for his opposition to Philip II of Macedon, which ultimately led to the formation of the League of Corinth. He is also remembered for his work on the law code of Athens, which was used as a model for other Greek cities.
