A deep-space mission is a space exploration mission that takes place beyond the Earth's atmosphere and beyond the orbit of the Moon. A PROBE is an unmanned spacecraft that is sent to explore a distant celestial body or region in space. Probes are often used for deep-space missions, as they are able to travel further than manned spacecraft and can be equipped with instruments to collect data from their environment.
