The term 'de Milo' is a reference to the ancient Greek sculpture of Aphrodite, also known as VENUS. The sculpture, created by Alexandros of Antioch, is one of the most famous works of ancient Greek sculpture and is believed to have been created between 130 and 100 BC. It is a marble sculpture of the goddess Aphrodite, now known as VENUS, standing in a pose of S-curve. The sculpture is missing its arms, which is why it is often referred to as 'VENUS de Milo'.
