The Dakota Indians are a Native American tribe that is composed of three distinct sub-tribes: the SIOUX, the Arikaras, and the Rees. The SIOUX are the largest of the three sub-tribes and are located primarily in Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota. The Arikaras are located primarily in North Dakota and South Dakota, while the Rees are located primarily in North Dakota. All three sub-tribes have a long history of cultural and spiritual practices, and they continue to practice many of these traditions today.
