The Dakota dialect is a language spoken by the Sioux people of North America. It is composed of three distinct dialects, Oglala, Teton, and Ree. Oglala is spoken by the Oglala Lakota people in South Dakota, Teton is spoken by the Teton Sioux people in North and South Dakota, and Ree is spoken by the Arikara people in North Dakota. The Dakota dialect is closely related to the Lakota dialect, which is spoken by the Lakota Sioux people in South Dakota, North Dakota, and Montana.
