The term DAHS, DITS AND MORSE CODE refers to a system of communication developed in the mid-19th century by Samuel MORSE. It is a method of transmitting text messages as a series of on-off tones, lights, or clicks that can be understood by a skilled listener or observer without any special equipment. The CODE consists of dots (dits) and dashes (dahs) which represent letters of the alphabet, numbers, punctuation marks, and other symbols. The CODE is still used today by amateur radio operators, and is also used in emergency situations when other forms of communication are not available.
