Currier and Ives was a lithographic printing firm based in New York City from 1834 to 1907. The firm was founded by Nathaniel Currier and James Merritt Ives, who produced prints of landscapes, city views, and other scenes from American life. In the early 20th century, the firm was taken over by Erte, a Russian-born French artist and printmaker. Erte continued to produce prints for Currier and Ives until the firm closed in 1907.
