Amarna is an ancient Egyptian city located on the east bank of the Nile River in the modern-day Minya Governorate. It was the capital of Egypt during the 18th dynasty of the New Kingdom period, under the reign of Akhenaten and his wife Nefertiti. The site is known for its extensive cuneiform tablets, which were discovered in 1887 by German archaeologist Ludwig Borchardt. Rosetta is an ancient Egyptian city located on the western bank of the Nile River in the modern-day Beheira Governorate. It is best known for the discovery of the Rosetta Stone, a stele inscribed with a decree from Ptolemy V in 196 BC. The stone was discovered in 1799 by French soldiers, and it provided the key to deciphering hieroglyphs.
