Gene Autry was an American singer, songwriter, actor, and businessman who was one of the most popular singing cowboys of the 1930s and 1940s. He starred in over 100 films and was the first actor to portray a singing cowboy on the silver screen. Autry was also known for his hit songs such as 'Back in the Saddle Again' and 'Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer'. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1969 and the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1970.
