A corrupting influence is any force that has a negative effect on an individual or society. Viruses, bribes, MIASMA, and ulcers are all examples of corrupting influences. A VIRUS is a small infectious agent that can cause disease in humans, animals, and plants. Bribes are payments made to influence the behavior of someone in a position of power. MIASMA is a noxious atmosphere or vapor believed to cause disease. An ULCER is an open sore on the skin or mucous membrane caused by infection or irritation. All of these corrupting influences can have a detrimental effect on individuals and societies.
