The Corn Goddess, also known as CERES, is an ancient Roman goddess associated with agriculture and fertility. She was the daughter of Saturn and Ops, and the sister of Jupiter, Juno, and Vesta. She was the goddess of grain, especially wheat and corn, and was believed to be responsible for the growth of crops. She was also associated with the underworld and was sometimes referred to as the Queen of the Dead. Her festival, Cerealia, was celebrated in April and was a time of thanksgiving for the harvest.
