The Conger Line was a shipping company founded in 1872 by John Conger. It was based in New York and specialized in passenger and freight services between the United States and Europe. The company operated a fleet of steamships, including the SS Eels, which was one of the first ships to be built for the company. The SS Eels was a four-masted steamship that was used for both passenger and cargo transport. The Conger Line was eventually sold to the American Line in 1902.
