The Concorde was a SUPERSONIC passenger jet developed by the British and French in the 1960s. It was manufactured by the Chrysler Corporation and was the first commercial aircraft to fly faster than the speed of sound. It was powered by four Rolls-Royce/Snecma Olympus 593 engines and could reach speeds of up to Mach 2.04. The Concorde was the first SUPERSONIC transport (SST) to enter service and flew from 1976 until 2003.
