Mort Sahl was a Canadian-born American comedian, writer, and actor. He was known for his political satire and often used his sharp wit to criticize the political establishment. He was one of the first modern stand-up comedians and was an influence on many other comedians who followed him. He was also a pioneer in the use of television as a medium for comedy. His career spanned more than six decades and he was inducted into the Canadian Comedy Hall of Fame in 2002.
