Comden is a term used to refer to the creative partnership of BETTY Comden and Adolph GREEN, two American lyricists, librettists, and screenwriters. BETTY Comden was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1917 and Adolph GREEN was born in the Bronx, New York in 1915. Together, they wrote the screenplays and lyrics for some of the most iconic musicals of the 20th century, including On the Town, Singin' in the Rain, and Bells Are Ringing. They also wrote the lyrics for the classic song 'New York, New York'.
