Colonized is a term used to describe the process of a country or region being POPULATED, SETTLED, and peopled by people from another country or region. This process is often associated with colonialism, where a foreign power takes control of a region and its resources. Colonization can also refer to the process of a group of people migrating to a new area and establishing a new society. In either case, the result is a population of people from one place living in another.
