A college degree unit, also known as a CREDIT, is a unit of measurement used to quantify the amount of work completed in a course. It is typically based on the number of hours spent in class and the amount of work completed outside of class. A CREDIT is usually equal to one semester hour of instruction or three quarter hours of instruction. Credits are used to determine the total number of credits required for a degree.
