The Cold War Agency TASS, which stands for Telegraph Agency of the Soviet Union, was a major news agency in the Soviet Union from 1925 to 1991. It was the official state-run press agency of the Soviet Union and was responsible for collecting and distributing domestic and international news to the media outlets of the Soviet Union. It was also responsible for providing information to the public about the activities of the Soviet government.
