The Oort Cloud is a vast region of cosmic debris located in the outer reaches of our Solar System. It is believed to be composed of icy comets, asteroids, and other small objects that are left over from the formation of the Solar System. The Oort Cloud is named after Dutch astronomer Jan Oort, who first proposed its existence in 1950. It is estimated to extend from about 2, 000 to 100, 000 astronomical units from the Sun.
