The Cleveland Cagers were a professional basketball team based in Cleveland, Ohio from 1946 to 1949. The team was part of the National Basketball League and was known as the Cleveland Cavaliers, or CAVS for short. The team was founded by businessman Arthur Buford and was coached by John McLendon. The team had a successful run in the NBL, winning the championship in 1948. The team disbanded in 1949 due to financial difficulties.
