Cinema Canine is a term used to refer to four iconic dogs that have appeared in films throughout the years. ASTA, from the 1934 film The Thin Man, was a wire-haired fox terrier. BENJI, from the 1974 film of the same name, was a mixed breed dog. ODEON, from the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz, was a female Cairn Terrier. Finally, Toto, also from The Wizard of Oz, was a male Cairn Terrier. All four of these dogs have become beloved characters in cinema history.
