Church areas are the different sections of a church building. The nave is the main body of the church, usually the longest and widest part. Apses are semi-circular or polygonal recesses in the walls of a church, typically at the east end. An APSE is a single apsis, or recess. Transepts are the two parts of a church that cross the nave at the crossing. Organlofts are the raised platforms in churches where organs are placed.
