The Choctaw are a Native American TRIBE originally from the southeastern United States. The Choctaw were one of the first TRIBES to be removed from their ancestral homelands in the early 19th century and relocated to Oklahoma, where they now reside. The Choctaw Nation is the largest federally recognized TRIBE in Oklahoma, with over 200, 000 members. The Choctaw language is still spoken by many members of the TRIBE, and the Choctaw culture is celebrated through traditional dances, festivals, and other events.
