The term 'Chimp Space' refers to the four most famous chimpanzees in history: ENOS (4 letters), BONZO (5 letters), APE (3 letters) and ORANG (5 letters). ENOS was the first chimpanzee to be launched into space by the United States in 1961, as part of the Mercury-Atlas 5 mission. BONZO was a chimpanzee actor who starred in several films in the 1940s and 1950s. APE was a chimpanzee who was trained to use sign language and was featured in the documentary film 'Project APE'. ORANG was a chimpanzee who was the subject of a long-term study on animal behavior conducted by primatologist Jane Goodall.
