Chief Justice John Roberts is an American lawyer and jurist who serves as the 17th and current Chief Justice of the United States. He was nominated to the Supreme Court by President George W. Bush in 2005, and has been serving since then. He is known for his conservative judicial philosophy and is considered one of the most influential justices on the court. He is also the first Roman Catholic to serve as Chief Justice.
