A certain student can refer to a variety of different types of students. A 'Soph' is a sophomore in college, a 'Postdoc' is a student who has completed their doctorate and is doing additional research, a 'TUTEE' is a student receiving tutoring, a 'SCHOOLBOY' is a student in elementary or secondary school, a 'Coed' is a student at a college or university that admits both male and female students, a 'Prelaw' student is one who is studying for a law degree, and a 'Premed' student is one who is studying for a medical degree.
