Carbon copying, also known as 'cc-ing, ' is a method of making multiple copies of a document or other material by using carbon paper. It involves placing a sheet of carbon paper between two sheets of paper and then typing or writing on the top sheet. The pressure from the typing or writing causes the ink to be transferred to the bottom sheet, creating a duplicate copy. Carbon copying was widely used before the advent of photocopying and other modern methods of duplication.
