Ross Perot is a former American businessman and politician who ran for President of the United States in 1992 and 1996 as an independent candidate. He was born in Texarkana, Texas in 1930 and founded Electronic Data Systems Corporation in 1962. He was also the founder of the Reform Party in 1995. Perot was known for his strong stance on fiscal responsibility and government reform. He was a successful businessman and philanthropist, and his candidacy for president was seen as a major challenge to the two-party system.
