CAAMA stands for Central Australian Aboriginal Media Association. It is a not-for-profit media organization that was established in 1980 to provide Indigenous Australians with access to media and communication services. ASSE is an acronym for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment Strategy, which was created in 1993 to increase the number of Indigenous Australians employed in the media industry. CAAMA works in partnership with ASSE to ensure that Indigenous Australians have access to meaningful employment opportunities in the media industry.
